PUBLIC BANKING: Banking That Serves People

Right now, basic financial services are expensive, inaccessible, or predatory for millions of Americans.

We already have a national network capable of fixing that: the postal system.

My approach:

  • Offer basic banking through public institutions

    • Checking, savings, and small-dollar loans available through local post offices

  • Eliminate predatory alternatives

    • Reduce reliance on payday lenders and high-fee services

  • Keep money in local communities

    • Public banking reinvests locally instead of extracting profit

  • Stabilize financial access

    • Ensure rural and underserved communities aren’t left behind

Bottom line: Access to banking shouldn’t depend on your zip code or your credit score.
